IT’S NOT FLESH AND BLOOD BUT THE HEART THAT MAKES US FATHER AND SON.
Below is the caption I wrote after my father passed away beside me.
I’m not who I am by chance alone.
because In that moment at 15:50pm Sunday the 17th of October 2021 when time stopped for one man everything feels very still&quite for a brief moment,
no more of his thoughts or his ideas about life, his feelings,
he has no more pain or suffering,
He is now set free of his body as his soul rises and joins those gone before him and we all are left here with a immediate sense of loss, upset & heartache 💔
today I’ve said goodbye to my best friend my teacher in life ,
and I never will forget him and how
he always believed &
encouraged me even when I didn’t always believe in myself .
He was everything a dad is supposed to be, he thought me how to be a man with his lessons of life & how to fix & maintain a home he especially loved gardening,
he thought me how to fish and enjoy the great outdoors with his love of scouting .
He thought me how to appreciate great films & music,
along with the history of the world as he brought me to amazing places with no tour guides needed as he shared storys of great battles & wars story’s of
Kings Queens & hero’s,
He was a character larger than life always laughing & joking with his great sense of humour which made him very popular with all his customers as the mastercrafts man and successful business man that he was highly respected as.
He was a great man to speak and negotiate but also he thought me to always be courageous and be ready to stand my ground and hold up my fists if necessary with his courageous heart of a lion.
His examples in life made me who I am today and although he may be gone, his soul lingers on and I’ll really miss him,
my auld man
Rip dad ,
The Long Acre is testimony to my adopted father, Adrian and the legacy of my grandparents, all of whom shaped my life and held such an important role in my development, making me who I am today.
